7 Marvel Heroes Daredevil Could Team Up With In The MCU
With Daredevil's recent cancellation on Netflix, it feels as though the timing couldn't be better for Marvel to attempt to work the hero into the MCU. With that said, here's a handful of heroes who would pair well with Matt Murdock, and maybe even allow for him to get a film of his own someday.
Black WidowA Daredevil and Black Widow meet-up has been on MCU wish lists for a while, mostly due to the relationship the two had in Marvel Comics. Matt seemed to have something happening with Karen again at the end of Daredevil Season 3, but with him having fallen for three women throughout his run so far, a new love interest wouldn't be out of character. The question is, will Marvel finally let these two meet?
The odds seem better given the hero is now free from Netflix, although with Black Widow's film set to take place in the past as opposed to the present day, Matt may not be Daredevil yet. Marvel probably won't derail its plans for the film just for the sake of including Daredevil, as much as some may want them to. If a role in her film is out of the question, perhaps the two will cross paths in Avengers: Endgame?
Spider-ManThe Daredevil and Spider-Man crossover is clear, as these two New York guys have shared villains over the years. The two are on two wildly different maturity levels at the moment, however, so meshing Tom Holland's Peter Parker with Charlie Cox's Daredevil could be a bit of a challenge. Marvel could always recast the hero and reintroduce him, although keeping Cox and his character's background the same could benefit the hero exponentially.
I don't know exactly how Spider-Man: Far From Home is gonna turn out, but I feel fairly comfortable in saying it probably won't be nearly as extreme as any season of Daredevil. I'm not saying the Web-Slinger needs to go quite that dark, but perhaps a Daredevil adventure with higher stakes and consequences could be that coming-of-age moment that helps Peter grasp just how serious his job is as a hero. Provided his being snapped away didn't already drive that home.
Captain AmericaIf Captain America and Daredevil met up in the MCU, how would that go down? The two current iterations of the characters seem like kindred spirits and definitely have more in common than not when it comes to their moral code. Captain America may be a little less brutal than the Devil of Hell's Kitchen, but one can afford to take things a bit easier when they have Super Soldier Serum to help taking a hard hit.
The common ground Captain America and Daredevil share may make him the ideal hero to introduce him into the MCU. Appearing in a Captain America adventure as a hero is seemingly an instant invite to all future ensemble get-togethers, which is great news for those afraid the hero might fall off the face of the Earth post-show cancellation.
Winter Soldier & FalconAs mentioned, getting in good with Captain America is often an instant invite to the other ensemble films. Sam and Bucky have both earned their roles in the ensemble films, of course, and have even managed to get a follow-up adventure that's said to be heading to Disney+ in the near future. Would it be possible for Daredevil to work his way into that tale, or is three a crowd?
I'm hoping that's not the case, as the duo's Disney+ debut may be what serves as the bridge to bring other Marvel television heroes into the MCU. Additionally, Bucky and Sam have a power set that Daredevil can hang with and be useful. That's not to say he couldn't do the same with Cap or another hero, but his contributions would feel a bit more significant amongst guys like Falcon and Winter Soldier.
Iron ManMarvel used Tony Stark to ease Tom Holland's Peter Parker into the MCU, so it stands to reason it could do the same thing with Daredevil. Granted, Matt Murdock isn't a child, so the growing pains of bringing him into any adventure may have different growing pains. For example, would Daredevil be as willing to listen to whatever Stark tells him to do in the heat of a moment?
He probably wouldn't have the teenage rebellious streak of Peter Parker, but Daredevil is definitely a guy who is used to taking lead in most situations. It would be interesting to see how he'd fare as a supporting player, and how his character would hope with having very little say in how a plan may be carried out. Would he play ball or would he go rogue and inadvertently cause more problems for others involved?
HawkeyeThe Avengers: Endgame trailer showed that Hawkeye seems to be in a dark place, and maybe on a rampage trying to do anything he can to reverse Thanos' snap. Hawkeye was never one wholly against violence to achieve a means to an end, but even Daredevil's brand of justice may have been too extreme for the Avenger. If Clint was looking to settle scores and get some answers, would he contact Matt Murdock for some help?
Possibly, and with Hawkeye appearing as Ronin in the latest feature, the odds are much higher that he'll be down with someone who pushes the envelope. Fun fact, Daredevil was considered for the mantle of Ronin in the MCU at one point, so perhaps a meeting would allow Clint to pass the mantle on to Matt? Even if that isn't happening, including Daredevil in an adventure would seemingly be enough to justify an action-packed Hawkeye feature film, which could be great.
